for men AND women!
For men and women alike, getting a good shave can be a little hit or miss.
You might wonder why you don’t always get smooth results…
Here are Five Tips from Dr. Alster to help you achieve the smoothest, safest shave possible.
Prior to shaving, moisten skin with warm water to soften the outer layer as well as hair
follicles for an easier shave. The use of shaving cream can also reduce skin abrasion,
redness and irritation.
Make sure to apply an unscented, alcohol-free moisturizer after shaving in order to
reduce skin dryness/irritation after shaving.
Don’t shave against the grain! Always use a clean razor or shave in the direction of
hair growth in order to avoid nicks and ingrown hairs.
Do not exert excess pressure — gentle gliding action only.
Do not reuse disposable razors and/or store razors improperly – clean razors with hot
water and dry completely. Store razors in a clean, dry location to avoid bacterial
overgrowth. Replace old blades (once used 5-7 times) and throw away disposable
razors after each use.
